I am usually of the opinion that making your game more accessible is better for everyone and taking a graphical hit to allow more players to play the title is often worth it, but after getting a new computer I realized Little Nightmares would be the perfect game to test my increased capabilities and I quickly saw why the game wasn’t interested in compromising its artistic direction. It was a nightmare part for me too, so hang on ( literally ) And good Luck!īonus advice: When you're running on the table try to go on a straight line, that might sound strange but the fatties hitbox it's their entire arm, but i found out you can jump up the arm, the " sucking pressure" it's localized mostly on the hand the arm it's safe, so avoid the first 2 fatasses normally, then jump the arm and jump again quickly, repeat the same with the second one and you should be already there.I attempted to play Little Nightmares for the 2020 iteration of The Haunted Hoard, but my computer at the time struggled with the game even on low settings. I had big problems with the Janitor because since he has long arms it's easy to get caught, even if you slipped away ( probably bugged, i got grabbed even if he shouldn't have reached me) also it's easy for the Janitor to bug and catch you, spot you even if he shouldn't be able to, also he is completely random, some times he sees you, some times he stops before, some times he relentlessy pursue you even if you're completely still.Īnyway, i didn't think about turning around too, just be sure to have set the hooks speed at the maximum, so the hook can just jump quickly into your face ( yes you can set a specific speed to the hooks by pushing the lever just a little bit far ( almost over middle), that's the slow pace, happened to me in one of many tries, it took 2 hours for me to reach the other side and it made me fail the jump cause the hooks were horribly slow, medium speed is the one that almost everybody unintentionally uses, they push the lever and they don't push far to the limit, because they are in a hurry, this one it's possible to grab but it will ♥♥♥♥ you over lots of times, last one it's fast, push the lever until you can't push no more, the hooks will be really fast, it will get you there before the chef giving you an advantage, slide under the table, climb the boxes and turn around and the hook it will swing right in your face, since the speed is faster than " normal" you will have a better chance to get it, but if you try to grab the one in the fron it wil ♥♥♥♥ you over because, of course, it's faster, you won't be able to catch up in time., i failed around 37 times until i tried this one single time and it worked. Doesn't help that it's at the end of the game either, so infuriating to die at that spot. Since these guys have vacuum hands it can be pretty tight. Specifically the park where you have to zig-zag between a bunch on them on the table. I cant say i had trouble with the janitor at all, but i also had trouble with the fatties at the end. Originally posted by Tine Melk:ah so you just jumped backwards instead? I didnt try that in my attempts, i dunno why i didnt think of that. You just have to run, climb the boxes TURN AROUND and jump on the hook, the front one it's probably made to trick you into jumping down into nothingness and lose, i wasn't able to grab that hook, it has no shadow it's hard to tell in the moment where it is and if it's in reach, the front one is suicide, the only possibility you really have it's to quickly turn around and grab the other one that is coming, even if the chefs have the grab on you, you will stil get away in the precise moment you'll grab the hook. I kept chasing it and i could never reach it, after 37 deaths ( while training for that part) i found out a possible trick, I died an insane amount of times to that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hook. I Just got the achievement, and i have to say, this and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ janitor part were insane. I run full speed at all times, and I cant tell how to make sure the hook is where i want it tt to be. The front hook is to far away for me to jump to, and the hook behind is not comming fast enough before the chef catches me. I'm currently attempting Hard to the Core achievement without any save scumming.īut im having some trouble becomming consistant in the scenario i pictured above.

When buying a tuner, check to see if it can easily read the low string. Some tuners may have difficulty picking up the E string (lowest note). They will tell your bass guitar’s notes are “flat” (too low), “sharp” (too high) or in tune. Unlike old fashioned electric tuners that you have to plug into, clip-on electric tuners attach to your guitar’s headstock and sense the vibrations of the strings. TUNING YOUR BASS GUITAR WITH A CLIP-ON ELECTRIC TUNERĬlip-on electric tuners have revolutionized tuning. Use an electronic or clip-on tuner. You can also purchase and use an electronic tuner for your bass to adjust your strings.Tune the bass guitar notes by ear. Play a “reference note” from another instrument, tuning fork, or pitch pipe and adjust your strings accordingly. There are two common methods for tuning a bass guitar. If it doesn’t sound quite right when you are playing, or if it sounds “off” when playing along with recordings, it is a good idea to check your tuning. As a general rule, basses stay in tune easier than a regular guitar, but you still want to check your tuning every time you play. You can’t expect your bass to always stay in tune between practice sessions. You should tune your bass every time you play it. How often should you tune your bass guitar? Tightening the strings makes the pitch go up loosening the strings makes the pitch go down. Turning the pegs changes the pitch by tightening or loosening the string. Tuning is controlled by the tuning pegs on the headstock of the bass. The basics of tuning your bass guitarįirst, let’s start with some of the basic parts of the bass. It’s now easier than ever to tune your bass guitar and keep it in tune. Regular practice is essential to learning an instrument and knowing proper bass tuning makes practice much more fun and rewarding, especially when you’re learning the School of Rock way and playing with other instruments. There are a large number of erhu lovers in Meicun, who have passed the Grade 10 exam, the highest level for amateur erhu performer, Huang said. One month later, Meicun signed agreements with the Jiangsu Provincial Musicians Association to host youth erhu contests. In November 2017, an art center named after erhu artist Deng Jiandong was opened. The town has also integrated erhu into residents' daily lives. In 2012, erhu-making masters and erhu musicians in Meicun visited Boholt, Germany, where they entranced the international audience with traditional Chinese arts. Meicun was honored as the "hometown of Chinese erhu" by the Chinese Musicians' Association in 2011. Artisans including Huang, Wan and Bu Guangjun won the title of Wuxi intangible cultural heritage heirs. Lu Linsheng, who is deceased, won the title of heir to Jiangsu's intangible cultural heritage. In 2011, erhu making in Meicun was placed on Jiangsu's list of intangible cultural heritage. In 2010, Meicun was titled the "hometown of erhu craft in Jiangsu". Any error in the process will lead to unwanted turbulence. The thickness of each piece of snakeskin, the ways of binding and trimming, and different woods the instrument uses will result in changes in tone. He added even a top artisan can only cover snakeskin on 10 instruments at most in a day. "The depth of sound matters to erhu and good snakeskin can make the sound more powerful," Huang said. "All the polishing tools I use are designed by myself."Īnother sophisticated technique during the erhu-making process is stretching snakeskin over the sound box. "It takes 10 to 20 years of practice to master this skill," Chen said. Chen Shuigen, an artisan at Guyue Qinfang, has been polishing the necks of erhu for 30 years. Huang's attention to detail is echoed by all artisans with the guild. "There are also a group of musicians who focus on repertoire and style and usually have many erhu to ensure a plurality of artistic expression," he added. Meanwhile, those living in the northern part of China prefer bright and high-pitched tones, he said. I believe each erhu has its own temperament and musicians have their own preferences," he said.Įrhu musicians in Jiangnan, which refers to the regions around the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, are fond of melodious and joyful tones. "My understanding of erhu grows with age and experiences. Rather than titles and awards, Huang said he is more conscious of affections by music lovers and musicians. His erhu have also ranked high in global contests, scooping him the top accolade of global erhu master artisan in 2012. Some have won gold and silver medals at contests organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the China National Art Association of Music Society. Having connected with erhu musicians in Shanghai and Su-zhou, Jiangsu province, Huang has refined the design of erhu from his workshop. He learned skills from Wan, a master erhu maker, and has tried out various innovations to make erhu more appealing. Huang, who has been in the trade for more than 20 years, is a renowned erhu maker in Meicun. The neck and sound box of each erhu is made of either Indian rosewood or red wood, with a laser label "Wuxi erhu". Member groups in our guild make progress together."Īccording to Huang, Guyue Qinfang - an erhu workshop set up by his father-in-law, Wan Qi-xing, and operated by Huang - is making a batch of high-end professional erhu to be exported to Japan. "Our guild is united in our desire to make authentic erhu by hand. "This year, the production capacity of 18 member groups in Meicun is expected to reach 50,000 (instruments), and the orders we received saw an increase compared with 2019," Huang said. The annual output value of erhu in Meicun stands at about 50 million yuan ($7.1 million) and the annual export value has reached about 10 million yuan. More than 50,000 medium and high-end erhu are produced annually, which account for about a quarter of the domestic market. Huang Jianhong, head of the Meicun erhu guild, said Meicun is a major production base of erhu in China, with more than 10 brands and 10 workshops. Since then, more people have devoted themselves to the trade and Meicun later became a synonym for fine and exquisite erhu. Meicun began producing erhu as early as 1965. Such a reputation derives from the spirit of craftsmanship and dedication that master artisans in Meicun put into producing the instrument. It’s ultra-comforting In aromatherapy, vanilla is known to reduce stress and increase feelings of warmth, relaxation and comfort. The scent of roses wafting through the room, the comforting warmth of a vanilla bubble bath and a hint of a spicy candle. Florals and vanilla (hint: Rose Vanilla from our aromatherapy collection) create an instant date-night mood. How many things can be mixed with vanilla? The possibilities are actually endless. Vanilla is fantastic by itself (we scream for vanilla ice cream), but it also pairs well with floral, spicy, woodsy and seaside fragrances – like the refined-yet-irresistible tones of a fruity perfume. And get this: it has over 250 aromatic components, which makes it super complex – and so ideal for blending. Sure, vanilla is sometimes all about the sugar, but with the right blend, it can become incredibly sophisticated, spicy or even musky and woodsy. Even beyond fragrance, this sugary ingredient pops up in drinks, chocolates, ice creams and your favorite treats from the holidays.all of which inspire some of your favorite scents, too. Vanilla’s a dependable way to sweeten perfumes, body care goodies (like aromatherapy’s Lavender Vanilla), bubble bath mixes, room sprays, vanilla-scented candles, and air fresheners. From there, it’s taken the world by (super-sweet) storm. Vanilla was the ingredient to mix with chocolate – until the 17th century, when Queen Elizabeth I fell in love with vanilla-only treats. After vanilla was discovered in 15th century Mexico, it instantly became an absolute phenomenon. What makes this sweet treat so great? Let’s take a look. It’s the coziness on top of a woodsy note, the dash of sweetness in a spicy scent, the seductive hint in a floral base, and it’s in some of our most-known fragrances (shout out to Warm Vanilla Sugar). We’re not sure how the word “vanilla” evolved to mean bland, basic or boring – because the truth is, vanilla itself isn’t even close to being blah. Spoiler: Vanilla’s way more than a sweet treat. The flying mechanic is wonderful and, the first time you use it, genuinely exhilarating. The main issue that I have with this game is that it doesn’t seem to realise where its strengths lie. To attempt to flesh out this gossamer-thin conceit the game periodically has its characters throw out big, dry chunks of expository dialogue in bland text boxes. It’s a theme that has been done before, and better, elsewhere. Not evil, necessarily, but feckless enough that they have exploited their environment and turned their back on nature, which has left them and their world on the brink of annihilation. The gist of the story is that humans are bad. This is an area where I feel the game struggles to set itself apart. Even the ruined architecture of forgotten civilisations that litters the game’s temples are unremarkable, and doesn’t do much to help immerse you in AER’s narrative. Contrast that with the interiors which, in spite of some occasionally pleasant lighting effects, are uninspired, flat grey corridors of not a great deal. In AER’s outdoor environments, it looks lovely big, bright, colourful shapes gliding past as you soar serenely through the angular cloud formations. Growing up with an Acorn A500 home computer and a steady diet of Stunt Racer 2000, Elite and Chocks Away, I have a lot of nostalgia for this graphical style. Personally, I enjoy the basic, polygonal design. We’ve all been burned like this before, I’m sure, but with a Metacritic score hovering in the mid-70s, AER has to be a pretty safe bet. It looks kinda neat, has an interesting concept and, oh what’s that? 90% off, you say? Well, don’t mind if I do. You’re idly scrolling through the sale section, carefully trying to avoid the shovelware and mobile ports, when something just piques your interest. I personally don’t feel particularly attracted to the genre but I do appreciate that a lot of people get more out of it than I do and so far, AER: Memories of Old is one that I would recommend to fans although Yonder: The Cloudcatcher Chronicles is still the yardstick by which I measure these games, but then….you couldn’t gracefully explore the skies as a bird as you can here. For me, AER – Memories of Old, was one of those eShop purchases. If you are hardened veteran of 3D games and yearn for challenge then this really isn’t the title for you. Thinking about it, this game is really what Feather should have been, offering the audio and visual cues that relax the player but also throwing in a dollop of puzzles and places to explore which will really add to the longevity for players who are fans of this more casual genre. You also can’t die in the game so there isn’t really a sense of threat or challenge beyond the aforementioned more cerebral sections of the game.Ĭlocking in at around two hours or so if you make a concerted effort to move through the main game, AER: Memories of Old feels like it’s designed more to be treated as a way of winding down such as Car Quest or the more recent Feather (which, containing no challenge whatsoever did admittedly feel more like a tech demo than a fully-fledged game). You can chat to a handful of NPCs that are scattered around but the bulk of the game is spent moving from place to place and solving the puzzles, all of which are pretty casual in difficulty. Presented in a low-polygonal style, the game runs quite smoothly and the sense of movement in the skies makes air-travel a real highlight, especially when combined with the lulling music and sounds. Sent out on a mission to the lost land of Gods, you play the last shapeshifter, able to not only traverse the hidden dungeons of the world but also the ability to transform into a bird and fly across the dozens of floating islands that make up the game. The bird-transformation mechanic and sense of openness that it gives however, is really saucy. A ‘relaxation game’ with more game play than I usually see in the genre, AER: Memories of Oldplays out as almost a gentle tutorial into the world of 3D platform games. While the $119.95 may be steep for casual users, the professional data recovery the app provides makes this premium version worth it in my opinion. It also sports a clean interface and excellent customer service. The app is also capable of testing your drives for directory damage, letting you know if there are potential issues before they happen. What makes DiskWarrior so great is the ability to perform a deep scan of your file systems, targeting problematic folders while salvaging files by putting them in a fresh directory that is free of errors. That helps to ensure your laptop continues to work to its full potential and can even increase the machine's longevity. Laptop cooling pads often use both fans and ventilation slots or a mesh surface underneath your device for better airflow to keep it cool. That’s where cooling pads come in clutch to prevent even your beefiest gaming laptops from overheating. Unlike a spacious PC build where you can tinker around to add more fans or coolers, there’s little you can do to increase the cooling potential for your laptop on its own. And that’s assuming it’s not passively cooled, in which case there would be no fans at all. Your laptop likely has some little fans spinning inside as fast as possible to keep your system cool. |
